While you’re performing a dental procedure, your attention is split between the patient’s mouth, anesthesia monitoring, and the need to keep track of everything on a paper chart. Tiny tooth cartography gets old fast, and it pulls your focus at the exact moment your patient needs it most.
Most veterinary medical records have moved beyond paper, and dental charting doesn’t have to be the exception. ScribbleVet gives you a better way to create the chart without pulling attention from your patient or adding one more manual task to an already busy procedure.
From Spoken Findings to Tooth-by-Tooth Detail
With ScribbleVet’s dental chart, you can talk through your findings either in real time during the procedure or after the fact. It’s built to pick up the relevant details from the way veterinary teams actually talk and turn them into a canine or feline dental chart that maps findings and extractions to the correct tooth. You don’t need a silent room or a perfectly polished dictation.

Instead of marking up a paper chart by hand, you get a visual record your team can review, save to the patient’s chart, and pull up later without having to decode anyone’s handwriting. And unlike a paper chart, this one isn’t static. The visuals change based on what you documented.

A Dental Chart That Changes With the Findings
ScribbleVet’s canine and feline dental charts can reflect four calculus levels and four gingivitis levels, from 0 to 3. Those levels show up in the illustration itself, not just as text beside the tooth. A tooth with Grade 3 gingivitis won’t look like a tooth with Grade 0 gingivitis. Fractures can also appear visually on canine dental charts, with pulp exposure reflected differently than a fracture without pulp exposure.
After ScribbleVet generates the chart, you can review it and make changes, which are then reflected in the image. When it’s ready, save it as a PDF or JPEG and attach it directly to the patient’s record.

For teams that spend a lot of time at the dental table, that means less manual work, less after-the-fact chart cleanup, and a clearer record to come back to later.
“The dental charts are clean, modern, and easy to read for both our staff and our clients. It’s made dental record keeping so easy and even a little more fun!”
— Rachel Vandermyde, DVM, Coyne Veterinary Center

Drawn by a Veterinarian Who Knows the Dental Table
ScribbleVet’s dental charts were drawn by Kat Reardon, DVM, ScribbleVet’s lead veterinarian and medical illustrator. Dr. Kat has been creating veterinary medical illustrations since vet school, including illustrations for Washington State University’s veterinary anatomy program. She’s also helped shape the prompting that guides how ScribbleVet charts are generated.
The result is a chart designed by someone who’s sat at the dental table, called out findings tooth by tooth, and knows how paper charting can pull attention from the patient and leave the team with a record that’s harder to read, share, and explain later.
A Clearer Conversation With Clients
Most clients leave a dental procedure with a general sense of what happened, but not always a clear picture of what you found. A visual chart gives you something concrete to walk through together, so you’re not relying on memory, notes, or a long list of tooth numbers to explain what happened.

That visual can make the conversation feel more personal, too. Clients aren’t looking at a generic dental handout. They’re looking at a custom picture of their pet’s mouth, with the findings your team documented.

ScribbleVet also generates an email for the client, so you can send home a plain-language summary alongside the chart. Together, the visual and the email help clients understand what you found, what you did, and the value of the care their pet received.
“The dental charts are so amazing. Nothing needs to be typed. There is a beautiful picture to save and a detailed client summary to send home. It really helps them see the value of what you did for the patient.”
— Saundra Robinette, DVM, Escanaba Veterinary Clinic
